Lojay Signs New Endorsement Deal with Coca-Cola Nigeria

10/12/24 3:18PM

Nigerian Afrobeats star Lojay has signed an exciting new endorsement deal with Coca-Cola Nigeria, officially becoming the latest local face of the global beverage brand. The musician shared the news with his over 400,000 Instagram followers, confirming his role as brand ambassador and promoting Coca-Cola’s new Wozzaah flavor.

His involvement with Coca-Cola will see him participate in various advertising campaigns as the company rolls out the limited-edition flavor, which promises a “tropical blaze-flavoured taste adventure.”

Coca-Cola and Africa’s Creativity: Wozzaah, described by Coca-Cola as a flavor inspired by Africa’s creativity, is the latest in a line of initiatives the company has launched to tap into the cultural and artistic vibrancy of the African continent. In a teaser video shared on social media, Lojay asked, “If you had to ask what Africa tastes like, what would your answer be?” This collaboration marks another milestone in Lojay’s growing influence, positioning him alongside some of the region’s most celebrated artists.

Lojay’s Career: Lojay, known for his smooth vocals and Afrobeats-infused hits, first gained international attention with his 2021 LV N ATTN EP, a collaboration with producer Sarz that included the breakout single Monalisa. His unique sound and ability to blend Afrobeats with contemporary R&B elements have earned him a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim. Lojay followed up his success with the 2023 release of Gangster Romantic, further solidifying his place as a rising star in the Afrobeats scene.

Coca-Cola’s Continued Support of Nigerian Artists: Lojay’s partnership with Coca-Cola follows in the footsteps of other prominent Nigerian artists such as Asake, Ayra Starr, Rema, BNXN, and Mayorkun, who were announced as Coca-Cola brand ambassadors last year. The company also launched Coke Studio in Lagos, providing a platform to celebrate the intersection of music, creativity, and African culture. This endorsement also highlights the competitive nature of the beverage market in Nigeria, with Coca-Cola’s rival Pepsi having previously secured deals with Afrobeats giants like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Rema.

With this new collaboration, Lojay continues to rise as one of Afrobeats’ most influential voices, now lending his creativity to promote Coca-Cola’s latest innovation.
