Actress and comedian Kate McKinnon has been announced as the latest brand ambassador for Philips Sonicare, starring in a humorous new campaign. McKinnon, who is represented by CAA and Artists First, continues her streak of comedic advertising following her partnership with Hellmann’s earlier this year.

In the campaign video titled Sonicare Switch, McKinnon plays the mythical Susan Toothbrush, a quirky character who magically appears in people’s bathrooms to help them make better oral healthcare decisions. In the spot, Susan Toothbrush hilariously criticizes a man’s outdated toothbrush, calling it an “ancient bristle-stick” just as he prepares for a job interview.

The campaign will be distributed widely through various platforms including social media, retail stores, linear TV, and programmatic video on YouTube, Prime Video, Meta, TikTok, and Snap.

McKinnon premiered a 15-second clip of the ad and discussed her character, Susan Toothbrush, during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
