Drake Signs With CAA For Representation

11/19/25 4:20PM

Drake has signed with CAA for representation after parting ways with longtime booking agent Brent Smith, who repped the Canadian rap giant for over a decade.

The rapper and singer, born Aubrey Graham, began working with Smith at WME and continued their partnership at Wasserman Music when Smith joined in 2020, where he is now vice president and managing executive.

The talent agent notably also represents the “Passionfruit” singer’s longtime rival Kendrick Lamar, fuelling speculation that the departure was influenced by the pair’s highly publicised feud and the fallout of Lamar’s Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us”.

Drake will now be repped by a team led by Darryl Eaton.

The “One Dance” hitmaker and “HUMBLE” rapper’s relationship first grew rocky back in 2013 and they continued to trade barbs over the years, before the former collaborators reignited their rivalry through a series of diss tracks throughout 2023 and 2024.

The feud reached fever pitch when Lamar dropped “Not Like Us”, which topped the Billboard 100 and won five Grammys. Since then, Lamar and SZA’s “Grand National Tour” has become the highest-grossing reported co-headline tour ever.

In the aftermath of “Not Like Us”, Drake went on to sue his record label Universal Music Group for defamation over the song’s lyrics, which he claimed were untrue. After a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit, Drake filed an appeal back in October.

The “God’s Plan” rapper’s last album, For All the Dogs, dropped in 2023, which he followed up with the collaborative record Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PartyNextDoor, released via OVO Sound/Santa Anna/Republic Records.

His ninth studio album, Iceman, is expected to be released sometime in late 2025. Meanwhile, rumours continue to swirl that Drake is planning a 2026 tour with Live Nation.
