Drummer and producer Yussef Dayes has signed with Wasserman for representation outside of North and South America. His bookings in North and South America continue to be handled by IAG, while he remains managed by Leader Management. His PR is managed by Good Machine PR.

Career Highlights:
Yussef Dayes is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and influential drummers in modern jazz and contemporary music. A founding member of the jazz duo Yussef Kamaal, Dayes gained early acclaim with the release of the duo’s debut album, Black Focus (2016), which became a landmark project in the modern jazz revival, blending jazz with funk, electronic, and African rhythms. Following this success, Dayes embarked on a solo career that has further pushed the boundaries of jazz, incorporating elements of grime, R&B, and Afrobeat into his work.

In 2020, Dayes released his debut solo album What Kinda Music in collaboration with Tom Misch. The album received widespread critical praise for its genre-defying sound and intricate production, further cementing Dayes’ reputation as a forward-thinking artist. His ability to fuse complex rhythms with a deep sense of groove has made him a sought-after collaborator, working with the likes of Moses Boyd, Alfa Mist, and Jordan Rakei.

Performances and Influence:
Yussef Dayes has captivated audiences with his virtuosic live performances, playing at renowned venues and festivals across the globe, including Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Boiler Room. His live sets are known for their intensity and improvisational nature, often featuring extended drum solos and spontaneous collaborations with other musicians.

Dayes’ ability to transcend traditional jazz boundaries has made him a key figure in the burgeoning London jazz scene, inspiring a new generation of musicians who blend jazz with electronic and global sounds.

The Future:
With his new worldwide representation through Wasserman and his growing international presence, Yussef Dayes is poised to continue expanding his influence across the music industry. Whether through his solo projects or collaborations, Dayes’ innovative approach to drumming and music production continues to push the genre forward, making him one of the most exciting artists in contemporary music today.
