Wesley Snipes Signs with Independent Artist Group for Representation

Veteran actor and action icon Wesley Snipes has joined Independent Artist Group for representation, marking a new chapter in his career. Snipes is best known for his role as the vampire-slaying superhero Blade in Marvel’s Blade trilogy (1998–2004), a performance that broke ground as one of the first successful Black-led superhero franchises and paved the way for future comic adaptations. His portrayal of the character earned the series a cult following and brought comic book films into the mainstream, ultimately grossing over $150 million globally.

Career Highlights: Snipes’ career began in the 1980s with a breakout role in Major League (1989), followed by high-profile parts in Spike Lee’s Mo’ Better Blues (1990) and Jungle Fever (1991), which showcased his versatility as a dramatic actor. His 1991 role as Nino Brown in New Jack City cemented him as a compelling lead in action and crime films. Throughout the 1990s, he starred in hit films like White Men Can’t Jump (1992), Passenger 57 (1992), Demolition Man (1993) alongside Sylvester Stallone, and the comedy To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995), where he portrayed a drag queen, demonstrating his ability to handle diverse roles.

More recently, Snipes returned to the spotlight with acclaimed performances in Dolemite Is My Name (2019) alongside Eddie Murphy and the Netflix series True Story (2021), where he played the gritty role of a brother in a complex family drama with Kevin Hart.
